Depriciation on the building was allocated 1/3 to x and 2/3 to y. Both notes are NONRECOURSE. If before income allocations partner x has negative capital account of (6000) and y has negative capital account of (18000) how much of partnerships taxable income of 9000 will be allocated to equal partner y?

A)0 B)45000 income C) 6000 income D) 9000 income

Explanation / Answer

answer is option B

profit sharing ratio of partner x and parter y is equal i.e. 50%-50% or 1:1

so, the proportion of equal partner in income will be 9000/2 = 4500

therefore in option B instead of 45000 income it should be 4500 income
