Option1: Raising money through syndicated bank borrowing:

JPMorgan Chase being a lead bank has been approached by the company, JP Morgan was unlikely to make a $4 billion loan to Merit on its own rather it could act as a lead bank and arrange the funds through syndication with different bank.
