Question

Imagine that you are the mayor of a rural town that has been consistently economically depressed for much of the last century. A corporation proposes to buy a large piece of public land and develop it into a production facility. The purchase price and ongoing tax revenues would help provide vital services to the community and update the town’s aging infrastructure, and the new facility would provide good-paying jobs to many residents. Unfortunately, building the new facility would require the destruction of wetlands and forest on the land. What would you do, and why?

Explanation / Answer

I would not like to prefer to build the new facility that would require the destruction of wetlands and forest on the land.

I would like to install the new facility in the abandoned land (where there is no facility for cultivation, no forest or no wetlands) near to the city. Therefore, we are not going to disturb the biodiversity that is very vital for our survival. That will be also eco-friendly.
