Explanation / Answer

According to an article of the Wall Street Journal, many big companies are no longer conducting performance appraisal ever year because of the mental health of their employees.

Giants like Microsoft are changing these reviews to a more often and low pressure conversation about performance and expectation between a boss and a worker.

Studies have suggested that even though the employees does not say anything during the review they feel disregarded and undermined and for these reasons will ignore the feedback.

Managers are encouraged to have frequent conversations with employees involving coaching and feedback to help them up a career ladder and reach the goals of the organization.

Many times employees wouldn’t take the yearly performance appraisal as an honest feedback but with this new approach they will they are having an honest conversation.
