What technological, economic, and social factors might cause levels of mortality and fertility to change?

What do you think the prospects are for the changes in birth and death rates in the United States?

What is the most significant factor that the poorest 2 billion people on earth could change that would resolve, or at least slow, world population growth? Anything?

Explanation / Answer

Dr. Hans Rosling suggested that the equalisation of health outcomes between the developed and developing countries, increase in female literacy rate, increase in employment rate of females might lead to decrease in mortality and fertility rates of human race in the next century.

In United States, the birth rate and the death rate will drastically come down due to increase in health care advancements. But, the population may continue to increase of there is uncontrolled migration of people from the other countries.

The most significant factor that the poorest 2 billion people on earth could do to slow world population growth is their reduced fertility rate which could be achieved by increasing their education, health and infrastructure.
