Question

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you could help with the latter part. I have figured out the former and the reasoning behind it.

Let C be the path along the curve given by y-2=2x^2 that moves from point (2,-6) to the point (0,2). Find r(t) the parameterisation of C in that direction as t ? [0,2]

Solved for r(t):r(t)=[2-t,2-2(2-t)^2]
where t[0,2].

Question I need help with now is :
Find T(t)=r?(t) the tangent vector of r(t) as t?[0,2]

I have figured out the following:

But it seems like the answer is not correct.

What am I doing wrong?

Explanation / Answer

i thing your parametric equation should be r(t):r(t)=[2-t,2+2(2-t)^2]
