Question

I have given 2 answers to the above question, 1 from the solutions from the book and the other from my personal calculation. As you can see the answers are different because in the solutions manual the limits of integration are between -1 and 1 while in my calculation they are between 0 to 2.I want someone to tell me if my method is wrong, as the question doesnt specify the limits of integration and if it is wrong then why. please give a detailed explanation and answer in the form of an uploaded image as I do not understand the computer notation. A satisfactory answer will be rewarded with points immediately.thanks.

Find the mass of a cube of side 2 if the tl-.-nsiiy i- proportion^ to the square of the distance from the center of toe cube. Therefore the mass of the cube is given as follows

Explanation / Answer

u have to take center of the cube as origin because the distance 2m is given from center of cube.... if u take center at the origin then the points will be x=-1 to x=1

and u have taken center somewhere in the plane.. in that case we are not sure that distance from center is 2 insead u are taking distance from origin as 2
