Test the series for convergence or divergence. n=1 Identify bn 1n Evaluate the following limit. lim bn since lino bn = 0 and bn + 1 s bn for all n, the series is convergent | · If the series is convergent, use the Alternating Series Estimation Theorem to determine how many terms we need to add in order to find the sum with an error less thn 0.0001? (If the quantity diverges, enter DIVERGES.) 7 x termsExplanation / Answer
Alternating series Estimation theorem states that error will be < = the first neglected term
so we need to find the term which is <= 0.0001
bn = 1/n*2^n
for n = 7 , we have value = 0.00111 which is >0.0001
for n =9 , we have value = 0.0002 whcih is >0.0001
for n = 10 we have value = 0.00009 which is <0.0001
so we can igonore 10 th term which means we have to consider first 9 terms
so answer is 9 terms ----ANSWER
