Part C-Explaining Erosional Surfaces This scene at the Grand Canyon has two erosional surfaces along either side of the very top set of rock layers. These erosion surfaces are marked with blue lines in the photograph below. Which geologic law indicales that these rock layers used to be wider across (from let to Erosion right), and are now narowor due to orosio ? The Law of Inclusions The Law of Superposition The Lanu of LtnsContay The Law of Original Horizontality The Law of Cross Cutting Submit Request Answer Provide Feedback Next >Explanation / Answer
The law of lateral continuity.
Reason : the law of lateral continuity states that sedimentary beds/layers extend laterally in all directions which means that they are laterally continuous. Similar rocks may have been cut across by rifting or wider rocks may have become narrower by erosion but they were initially continuous laterally.
