Can someone please confirm if I did my homework correctly please 1-18 thank you so much:)
PROBLEMS The questions in this exercise are based on this contour line map with elevatio shown in feet. North is to the top of the map. . Streams are shown with dashed lines A graphic scale for measuring horizontal distances is shown below the map. stimate elevations between contour lines to the nearest half-contour interval; assume that the top of a hill is one-half-contour interval higher than the highest contour line shown. 750 Pine Hill Rock Hil 1000 1000 1000 2000 3000 FEETExplanation / Answer
1. Contour interval is 50 feet.
2. As contour interval is 50 feet, so half of the contour interval is 25 feet. So as mentioned the top of the hill elevation is 750 + 25 = 775 feet.
3. As the point B is located between two contour lines of 650 and 700 feet, its elevation must be around 675 feet.
4. Similarly, point C is located between two contour lines of 550 and 600 feet, its elevation must be around some 575 feet.
5. Highest elevation point is E, having an elevation of about 1075 feet.
6. The lettered point with lowest elevation is C (575 ft).
7. A) The highest elevation must be at the peak of the rock hill. B)The elevation of the highest elevation is 2000 feet.
8. A) Lowest elevation is in the valleys around the rush creek.
B) elevation of the lowest location is 500 feet.
9. local relief of the landscape is 500 ft.
10. It is of course A, clearly seen in the map.
11. As D and F are on two opposite sides of a hill peak, it is not possible to see D from F.
12. For D and B, they are on the same elevation and are located on two opposite sides of a stream, so D can be seen from B.
13.The depression on the south west of pine hills is in between 600 and 650 feet, so its bottom elevation is 650 feet.
14. Sorry, but I am not sure about the depth of the depression.
15. Not sure about it.
16. The Rush Creek flows from B to C. (from higher to lower elevation).
17. In every map, closest spaced contour lines indicate steepest slope. That is why your drawing is correct.
18. I think the position of streams are also okay.
