Question

Characterized by extensional faulting (tension) the broad Basin and Range area covers a large tract of the Northwest Great Basin province. This area has been stretched almost 100% of its original size with the resultant thin crust and numerous hot springs. Climate change in this area since the end of the Ice Ages (Pleistocene) is profound beginning with hundreds of pluvial lakes and vast wetlands and ending today with a dry, high desert setting with annual single-digit rainfall and moonscape of fresh volcanic features. Despite the striking change in climate and resultant biota from a lush, verdant environment to a stark, xeric, inhospitable windy plain, the change cannot be attributed to human-caused global warming. Expand on this theme with an argument for or against today’s controversy over global warming.

Explanation / Answer

The global warming controversy Is an continuing argument about the consequences of humans on worldwide global climate and what plans should be executed to prevent the effects of the global warming. The scientific agreement on the change of climate is the global warming which is a man made anthropogenic activity which has a wide damage in the coming future. There are some of the organizations like royal society and the Meteological Society they work on an assessment on warming over 50 years on the increase in greenhouse concentration due to the human activities or the man made activities.

The cause of the climatic change includes the increase in the temperature whether the change is cause due to the climatic factors by the human made activities. Evidences been in favor of the the current warming trend that it is been caused due to the human activities which resulted in increase in the green house gases like CFC, carbon dioxide and methane which traps the infrared rays and thus global temperature is been increased.

It is true that today's climate is 88% changed many communities also been argued that human activities are producing global climate change and contributing to the anthropogenic greenhouse gases.
