Question

Simultaneously solve the mass and the energy balance to find out the mass flow of the 'F' (Flashed steam) and the amount of waste hot water coming from the steam trap (W1). Assume the blow down tank operates at atm pressure.

This is part of my poject.

wat i think is that, simulataneous equations has to used to calculate the mass flow

E1 0=mw1?mw2?mF mw2=mw1?mF E1 for mass flow

and

E2 26.1=(P.m)w1?(P.m)Fenergy or power

x=mw1 y=mF hF=691.8?346.36=345.4

E1 & E2 26.1=691.8x?345.44y & 0.0753=x?y

if i solve it i get

y=?0.075044866612772 & x=0.0002551kg/s

But the only problem with the values is that it shows that mass out is greater that mass in, so its incorrect.

What are u getting,,,its not displaying anything when i look into the part where gave ur results,,do u see'em? please check!! :)
