An engineer is designing a pushrod for a pump which will be subject to a wide range of temperatures. They wish to select a suitable material for the pushrod and conduct an experiment using three possible materials at three possible temperature levels where the measured response is thousands of cycles to failure. The results of the experiment are shown below: Use ANOVA analysis with a 95% confidence level to determine if there is any effect of temperature, material type, or their interaction, on the component life.

The null and alternative hypothesis can be written as

H01:There is no effect of temperature on other component life.

H02:The effect of material type is not present on other component life.

H03:The interaction effect is absent on other component life.

Alternative Hypothesis:

Ha1:There is effect of temperature on other component life.

Ha2:The effect of material type is present on other component life.

Ha3:The interaction effect is present on other component life.

From the above output ,the p-value obtained for material type is 0.0496 which is less than the signifiance level of 0.05.Also the p-value obtained for temperaure is less than 0.05 and similarly the p-value for interaction is less than 0.05.Therefore ,it can be said that the all the factors are significant at the 0.05 level of significance.
