Question
I'm stuck. I have a Minitab project due and I don't know how to put this question into mini tab form. The shape of the graph of a binomial distribution depends on the value of both n and p. To see how the shapes change for a fixed value of n, you will let p vary and graph each probability distribution. Let X be a binomial random variable with n=10. a. p=.18, .47, and .88 obtain the binomial distribution and a bar chart of each distribution. b. For small values of p, the binomial distribution is skewed to the ______. For large values of p, the binomial distribution is skewed to the ______. For values of p near _____, the binomial distribution is nearly symmetric. It would be really helpful to have the steps to do this because that's what I need when I'm doing it
Explanation / Answer
from above value of n=10 and smaller value of p=0.18
hence mean =np =10* 0.18=1.8
as mean is on left side; it is skewed on right side
from above value of n=10 and larger value of p=0.88
hence mean =np =10*0.88=8.8
as mean is on right side; it is skewed on left side
hence mean =np =10*0.47=4.7
as mean is on center; it is symmetric
