Hence, results are significant and corresponding to unit increase in partyid political party affiliation from democratic to republican there is 0.105 increase in authoritatariranism scale.

Degree of freedom =n-2=618-2=616

Critical t(0.05,616)=1.96

Independent variable is signfcant at test statistic t=2.927>1.96

Also p-value=0.004<005 so independent variable is significant.

95% confidence interval =0.105-1.96*0.036 , 0.105+1.96*0.036

=(0.0344               0.1756)

As confidence interval does not includes zero, so independent variable is significant

Auth Scale= 2.317 + 0.105 * Partid

Intercept is the average scale when partyid=0, that is for strongly democratic people

Slope=0.105 which means that corresponding to unit increase in republican level there is on an average an increase of 0.105 in Auth scale

R-sqaure is 0.013 which means that partyid explained only 1.3%variabilitiy in auth scale

Standardized beta=0.116 which means that corresponding o 1 standard deviation increase in republican partyid there is 0.116 standard deviations increase in auth scale.

For weak democrats partyid=1 , so Auth Scale= 2.317 + 0.105 * 1=2.422

For independents partyid=3 Auth Scale= 2.317 + 0.105 * 3 = 2.632

For strong repubilcans partyid=6 Auth Scale= 2.317 + 0.105 * 6=2.947
