ME 231 Statics Extra Credit Dr. Edward Bednarz Summer 2017 The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your knowledge of finding the center of gravity of an object. You will need to demonstrate it to the class on Wed. 6/7/2017. A PowerPoint and report is needed and it is an individual assignment; no one should take the ideas of others in the class. Also you cannot pick a symmetric object. Pick an object that has an irregular shape; an example is a baseball bat. You can also pick an object that has a mix of materials in it (ex. Steel and Aluminum). You should balance your object on an item that is round or square (ex. Pen cap and relatively small in relation to the size of the object. All calculations must be shown and handed in on Wed. No extensions will be given!Explanation / Answer
