Im posting these questions together becuase they wouldn't make sense otherwise, I hope that's ok!
You are the President and have the opportunity to nominate someone to the supreme court. Answer the following questions with an explanation.
1-Should the nominee be a judge or an attorney?
2-What role does the current composition of the court play? In other words, What role does diversity play? And what kind of diversity is important?
3-What are three characteristics that you are looking for in a candidate?
4-Can you think of anyone in particular that would make a good Justice?
5-Do you discuss any issue in particular, such as abortion, affirmative action, or gun rights? Do you have a candidate commit him/herself to vote on any given issue once they get to the court?
Explanation / Answer
1) I, as the President, would nominate a judge to the supreme court as the educational qualifications of a judge are as follows:
The judge's experience is more extensive than an attorney's experience and a judge has worked on both sides of court proceedings (practicing law as well as presides over court proceedings).
