Explanation / Answer
1.32 ) mean and median
median is unaffected by outliers as The median is the middle number in a sorted list of numbers.
here median is 225
mean is average of all data points , which is clearly affected by outlier, reason that mean and median is same ,because there are two outliers , first smaller than average ( 185.25) and second one is larger than average (252) , which makes mean closer to median
here mean =1800.75/8 = 225.0938
33)
if 8th data point is 222 , median won't change as it the middle number in a sorted list of numbers.
mean would increase as 222 > 185.25
now mean would be increase by 5 as (222 -185.25)/8 is approx 5}
exact mean = 1837.5/8 = 229.6875
