Given,

Speed of man = 5.23 m/s

Speed of bear = 7.15 m/s

Distance = 24.4 m

So, every second the bear gains (7.15 - 5.23) = 1.92 m/s

The bear has 24.4 meters to travel

24.4/1.92 = 12.71 s, it takes bear to catch

So, distance, d = v x t = 5.23 x 12.71 = 66.47 m
