Explanation / Answer

Table 1 consists of Desscriptive Statistics of assesment scores of 50 forensic patients with alcohol/substance abuse challenges.

The scores denote their Willingness towards the steps to resolve.

Let's interpret the values present in table one by one:

Mean - 16.60 -> On an average the willingness towards the steps to resolve in our sample is 16.60.

Median - 14.00 -> The center value of the willingness is 14.00, in other words, half the values are below 14 and other half is above 14.

Mode - 9.00 -> The value hich has occurred most number of the times is 9, in other words the most common willingness value is 9.

Standard Deviation - 8.43 -> It denotes how willingness for our sample is spread out from the average (mean), or expected value. A low standard deviation means that most of the numbers are very close to the average. A high standard deviation means that the numbers are spread out.

Sample variance - 71.10 -> The sample variance is just the variance in a sample. It gives you an idea of how much your sample differs from the average population. You can see that sample variance is the square of Std. Deviation.

Skewness - 1.28 -> If skewness is positive, the data are positively skewed or skewed right, meaning that the right tail of the distribution is longer than the left. If skewness is negative, the data are negatively skewed or skewed left, meaning that the left tail is longer. Ifskewness = 0, the data are perfectly symmetrical. Here in our case the skewness is positive, it means that the right tail of our distribution is longer than left tail.

Range - 31.00 -> Range simply denotes the difference between minimum value and maximum value in our distribution. Here it means the willingness value has range 31.

Minimum - 8 -> It denotes that the minimum willingness a patient has shown is 8.

Maximum - 39 -> It denotes that the maximum willingness a ptient has shown is 39.

Sum - 830 -> It is the sum of all the willingnes valus we hav in our sample.

Count - 50.00 -> It is the count of total patients we have in our sample.
