Can someone please help me figure this out? I need help with the Excel formula and the answer.

1. Sue and Ann decide to lose weight. Sue is rich and hires a trainer. Ann goes to Weight Watcher's. Sue and Ann both went on diets for 2 months. They had a bet that whoever lost the most weight would have to treat the other to a mani/pedi. Sue lost 15 pounds and Ann lost 12.   

Ann decided that she and Sue should not compare absolute pounds lost but rather how much they lost in comparison to others in their diet group . She felt the advantage of the trainer should be factored out.

For Sue's trainer, her average client loses 16 pounds in 2 months with a std dev of 3 pounds.

At weight watchers the average weight loss is 13 pounds in 2 months with a standard deviation of 1.5 pounds.

One woman at Weight Watchers lost 30 pounds in 2 months and one woman with a trainer lost 50!

Can Ann win the bet?

Sue lost 15 kg in 2 months

In Sue's trainer group mean is 16 kg and sd is 3

So total number of members are not given..

So people lost weight in b/w 13 to 19 kg

Whereas Ann lost 12 kg

Now in her group mean lost 13 with sd 1.5

So 11.5 - 14.5kg range

But we can see outliers in ann's group like 30 and 50 kg weight lost..so these outliers i

Cause the mean to be 13 ...that means other people in ann's group did really poor job than Ann..

So Ann can win the bet in comparison to how much others lose in their group.
