Need help with this question in statistics

Prior to being hired, the ten salespersons for a computer store were given a standard sales aptitude test. For each individual, the score achieved on the aptitude test and the number of computer systems sold during the first 3 months of their employments are shown here Name Units sold in 3 months Score on aptitude test 80 70 45 90 21 usan Michael Smith 45 10 60 Todd Rick Wilson Lil 51 70 21 56 57 29 78 om Moll (A). Determine the regression ine (dependent variable: Unit sold in 3 month, independent variable: Score on aptitude test) and interpret the slope and discuss its significance (B). Predict, for a new employee who scores 60 on the sales aptitude test, the number of units the new employee will see in her first 3 months with the company

Explanation / Answer

A)

Units sold for first three months = 21.32 +0.47

So when aptitude test scores increase by one point score(1 unit)

Units sold in 3 months will increase by 0.47

We used a significance level =0.05 and p value =0.125,
Here p value > (significance).

We can't reject our hypothesis and we can't conclude that there is a statistical significance regarding the slope of score on aptitude test and the number of units sold in first
3 months of hire. We can't eliminate the possibility of the
slope being 0(zero).

B) Here new employee aptitude test score= 60.

Units sold in first 3 months =?

lets new employee be x .

Number of units x sold in first 3 months=
21.32+0.47(aptitude test score)
=21.32+0.47(60)
=49.52
= approximately 50 units sold in 3 months
