I'm stuck.on question 3. a. b. And especially c. I did B. but not sure if I'm correct?? please help

3) years,ar normally distributed with a mean of 13.20 years and a standard deviation of 2.95 a) For a educatigst finds that for a certain segment of the population, the numbers of years of formal ucation w person randomly selected from thys group, find the probability that he or she has etween 13.20 and 13.50 years of education b) for a person randomlý selected from this group, rind the probability that he or she has at least 12.00 years of education. c) (Extra Credit) many y If an employer wants to establish a minimum education requirement, how ears of education would be required if only the top 5% of this group would qualify?

Explanation / Answer

a) for we know that z score =(X-mean)/std deviation

hence probability of score between 13.2 and 13.50 =P(13.2<X<13.50)=P((13.2-13.2)/2.95<Z<(13.5-13.2)/2.95)

=P(0<Z<0.1017)=0.5405-0.5 =0.0405

b)

probability of score at least 12 =P(X>12) =1-P(X<12)=1-P(Z<(12-13.2)/2.95)=1-P(Z<-0.4068)=1-0.3421=0.6579

c)

for top 5% ; z =1.6449

hence corresponding value of education =mean+z*std deviaiton =13.2+1.6449*2.95 =18.05 Years
