Question

CH7

For the following triangle, solve for B. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list. If there is no solution, enter NO SOLUTION. Round your answers to the nearest degree.) A = 150 degree, b = 120 ft, a = 30 ft; no solution Use the results to explain why the triangle has the given number of solutions. Since sin B can never be less than 1, no triangle exists. Since B cannot be obtuse, no triangle exists. Since sin B can never be greater than 1, no triangle exists. Since sin B can never be equal to 1, no triangle exists.

Explanation / Answer

Using sine law we get

sinA/a=sinB/b

sin150/30=sinB/120

sin B=120sin150/30=2

And sin theta cant be greater then 1

So the answer is no solution and the third option is correct.
