Question

Chapter Case Study IS THERE AN APP FOR GOOD PARENTING? If you've gone to a mall or family restaurant recently, it's likely that you have playing games or watching videos on tablets. Whereas it used to be difficult to get children to behave in stores or at restaurants, parents are finding that a tablet or smartphone can be an effective babysitter. Manufacturers have picked up on this trend and offer several tablets designed specifically for kids: Samsung has the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Edition, LeapFrog sells the LeapPad3 PowerLearning Tablet, nabi provides the nabi 2, and Amazon has the Fire Kids Edition, to name just a few. cen childre

Explanation / Answer

1.
The companies are of course benefitted out of the huge sales that resulted in making these products the number one selling products. Companies are banking on the parents' impatience to play and handle children, so parents think that they could spare some time for themselves if the children are occupied with the products.
Children on the other hand are affected a lot in terms of health, behavior and intelligence. They also lack the attention from the parents which in turn make them vulnerable to psychological disorders. The development of language, lower self esteem and lower trust are results of lack of attention.
2.
In my point of view parents are more responsible than anyone else in regulating this because companies are just business entities that operate to earn more profit. If the companies have ever felt their social responsibility, we won't see many of the products that affect people physically and emotionally.
Parents should spend time with the children rather than buying them toys that are built with screens and technologies. This will only allow he children to live in a virtual world. When they come to the real world, they will struggle.
