(Answer) About the toddler: John Doe is a year and 2 months old and has no special needs. He is on a normal diet plan and is still being nursed by his mother. He gets a cold or fever like any other infant and has already got all of his milk teeth.

Vegetables, fruits, or portions of both ¼ cup and 4 fl. Oz breast milk for breakfast.

For lunch, a bowl of strain peas and an hour later, 4fl. Oz. Of cow’s milk.

For his evening snack/supper, half an egg and a small jar of strain plum.

For his dinner, ¼ bowl of ceralac and breastmilk before bed.

Maximum of 3 hours.

Irascible temperament and cranky behaviour.

The child needs a booster seat or baby chair with a built-in desk. This allows the child to freely pick up pieces of food from the baby desk and eat well. The child uncomfortable to sit on a sofa or dining table.

Foods

Table Food – porridge, soft foods like fruits, chicken, egg and bread.

Since the child has only recently got all of his teeth, the mother is beginning to administer sold foods very gradually. She also does not feed John very flavourful food as he is just getting used to table food. The child does not have any allergies as yet, however, the mother feeds John rice, mashed potatoes and cheese sporadically that would help John get the fat he needs.

Avoid giving the child very hard foods like nuts that he might not be able to bite as yet and might cause allergies.

Sleeping

Does the child use a pacifier? No

What is the child’s current sleeping schedule?

The child currently requires about 14 hours of sleep or more if he is fairly tired. Since he has just finished teething, he is still exhausted from the painful ordeal.

What behaviors indicate that the child is tired? Please describe.

When the child yawns, rubs his eyes or cries a lot more frequently, it probably means that he is tired and sleepy.

The child refers being talked to before he sleeps or the sound of a soothing song or lullaby helps him sleep faster.

So far, due to the regular application of talcum powder and petroleum jelly, the mother has been prudent to not let the baby be affected by a diaper rash.

For a few hours every afternoon, the mother even lets the baby be without a diaper to allow him to get used to it and to avoid being swaddled too often.

The baby tends to get quiet at the time of his business and might whine until his diaper is changed.

The mother conducts immunity building exercises every now and then. For instance, she lets John eat cheerios from the floor so that his body might get used to fighting the milder germs.
