You were taught the action, so it is a habit.

People will think poorly of you if you do not do it.

People will think well of you if you do it.

People will love you more if you do it.

People will vote for you if you do it.

People will abandon you if you do not do it.

You did not do it once, and you felt guilty, so you help to avoid feelings of guilt.

You are superstitious, so you help to keep anything from being your fault.

You are banking grace to get into heaven.

You are keeping your karma positive.

You feel superior to others if you can help them.

You feel proud of yourself when you help others.

Helping makes up for your inability to communicate your love verbally.

You identify with the person who needs help, so helping them relieves your pain.

yes all altruistic acts are selfishly motivated.

although atruism is defined as an unslefish act done for others but the motivation behind that also lies in the selfish thoughts. there are 3 motives of altruism -

self interest- which states that most of our behaviors are based on seeking whatever provides us with satisfaction. hence we are not bothered of right or wrong but we do the best to relax our negative feelings.

moral integrity- this motive makes us want to be moral and gives an evidence of goodness and fairness. we focus on doing the right thing.

moral hypocrisy- it includes the motivation to seem moraly right by avoiding the cost of being moral. it is important for them to care about doing the right thing by following their own self interest.

all 3 motives have some or the selfish aspect attached to ithence altruism is always selfishly motivated
