a)What is a measure of behavior?

b) Explain what test-retest reliability is

c)Explain what inter-rater reliability is (You don’t need to explain interitem reliability)

D) Explain what validity is. The text describes different kinds of validity – just explain what it means if a measure is valid.

Explanation / Answer

Generalizability- Generalizability is a term that applies to the accuracy with which result or finding can be transferred to the situations or people other than those originally studied.

Generalizability is not only common to research but to everyday life as well, small sample size limits the use of inferential statistics and decrease the external validity or generalizability of the findings.

Measurement of Behaviour- The measurement of behavior is, in principle, directed at two groups: people in leadership positions and people in operating positions. The human behavior is a dynamic characteristic so that it cannot be measured accurately while we use various methods.

The measure of behavior enables with personality, common behavior, individual behavior and collective or group behavior. The measure of behavior implies various characteristics and is a qualitative variable.

Test-retest reliability- The test-retest reliability is a method in simplest way of testing the stability and reliability of an instrument over time. It is a closeness of the agreement between the results of successive measurement of the same measures under the same condition.

Inter-rater reliability- The inter-rater reliability refers to the consistency of measurement obtained when different judges or examiners independently administer the same test to the same subject. We use inter-rater reliability to ensure that people making subjective assessments are all in tune with one another.

Validity- Validity refers to a test ability to measure what is supposed to measure. The validity is one of the most important factors to consider when determining the merit of a psychological test.
