Ans1: This patient can have Melanoma which is a type of skin cancer. It affects the pigment producing melanocytes basal layer of the epidermis.
Ans 2: Stratum Germinativum is also known as stratum basale, it is the base layer of the epidermis and is the nearest layer to the blood supply lying underneath the epidermis. Because the melanoma originates from melanocytes which produce melanin and are present in the basal layer of the epidermis.
