a) The seventh cranial nerve, FACIAL NERVE, is mainly involved in this patient. Also there is involvement of fifth cranial nerve, TRIGEMINAL NERVE.
b) Name of the condition is Bell's plasy.
c) This condition is due to inflammation of one division of facial nerve which supplies it branches to left side of the face. Due to inflammation of facial nerve, it cannot transmit sensory and motor impulses (it is a mixed nerve). This inflammation is may be due to infection by viruses like herpes, voricella-zoster etc.
d) She is unable to smile because there is paralysis of facial muscles.
