b. aldosterone in response to a drop in blood pressure or blood flow

c. ADH in response to increased glomerular filtration

d. angiotensin in response to hypotension

2. As the level of sodium in the blood increases from renal tubular reabsorption

a. more potassium is excreted in the urine

b. more sodium is excreted in the urine

c. the blood pressure will drop

d. glomerular filtration will stop

Explanation / Answer

1. The endrocrine role of the kidney is to produce-

Answer-

a. renin in response to a drop in blood pressure or blood flow

Its work on RAAS ( Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system) system which is increase BP by two pathway on is by vasocontriction and second is by electrolyte retension.

Renin helps in the synthesis of angiotensin-I ( is an active form which lead to vasoconsriction and electrolyte retention) from angiotensinogen ( is an anactive form).

2. As the level of sodium in the blood increases from renal tubular reabsorption

Answer-

a. more potassium is excreted in the urine.

For maintaining the elecrolyte balance in the body if sodium ion concentration is increase in the body due to more reabsorption at the time more potessium is excreted from the body to maintain electrolyte balance.
