Explanation / Answer

(Answer) Before finding solutions to this problem, it is important to define the cause of this issue. Smaller groups and social minorities are not as well represented as they should be within the American political system.

There are noticeably more Harvard graduates and privileged upper-class citizens within the system than district or community college graduates. The few who manage to attend Ivy League are mostly those who are privileged enough to afford it in the first place. This is not to say that every member of the house is from a good university or upper-class families, but a fair amount is. Recent studies show that in the 114th Congress, about 36% of the members went to an Ivy League University.

It may seem that Ivy League students are well represented at the house. But if one looks at the crux of the situation, if an individual wants to be a successful politician, a University education is a must. This means that the student dropout rate amongst the middle and lower-middle class needs to decrease drastically in order to nudge the statistics in favor of the poor classes.

If a college education becomes affordable, there would be an eventual decline in dropout rates. There are a negligible amount of politicians who are dropouts. This is a simple equation of:

A=B

& B=C,

therefore A = C.

Better education equals better prospects.
