Motivation acts as a fire to make the person bring out great performance along with determination and the drive to reach the utmost goal. This provides mental toughness to people along with having a winning attitude. The theory of motivation that drives me most of the times is intrinsic motivation. This is where the person performing an activity is not getting an external reward, but personal rewarding or happiness to self or someone else, and there is not external or materialistic reward driving their actions. This can be influenced by positive reinforcement because there may be lesser intrinsic motivation and it would be replaced by these reinforcements, showing an effect known as overjustification event. This theory has applied in this scenario, since at the time of taking up the course, I did not think if I’ll be earning a lot after the end of the course. Rather, what I’ve only thought is how interested I was in the field and how pursuing the course would keep up with my interest and how I could help people who really need some help with sorting themselves out.
