Question
In Africa, tribes cultivated a sense of unity and loyalty among the members, but not necessarily among the neighboring tribes/groups. We see in South Africa, the call for a unity among all people, all human spirits. Do you see any similarities in our own culture? Do you, personally, operate off of the differences you see between yourself and others, or do you treat everyone like they are equal to you and deserving of your loyalty and support? Do you think having more ofa dance culture would help in unifying us or help us have stronger communities?Explanation / Answer
The society I live in is very inclusive; it believes in the policy of unity in diversity. Hence our culture has similarities with this notion that there should be unity among all human spirits as they are the creation of one same God. Hence based on this concept that the whole world is a family; I treat everybody equally and try to help and support everybody equally. Dance is not necessarily going to unite people into a stronger community. What is more important is the realization of the presence of God. People becoming God conscious in their lives and thinking that all souls are equal before the eyes of one supreme authority to whom; all are equally accountable. Different cultures in the world are giving different styles of dancing but still, they are intolerant.
