Glaucon theory and story of the ring of Gyges---it is a moral argument and conversation between Glaucon and Socrates where they both discuss the justifying and unjustifying behavior of a wise man and an unwise, rude and a mean man.Glaucon believes that a just man is believed to be wise, precise and skillful as he is limited to himself in being virtous and is stripped off of other responsibities by the unjust man who gains authority for wrong doings, bad behavior but all these are hidden inside a person's beliefs and not exposed in the open surroundings.
Moral motivation is that if a person appreciates a situation on the basis that whatever skill and precision he has is limited to himself and he will be called as justified and simple based on the everyday observations of preventing indulgence in wrong behavior and limiting himself to a constraint and stressful environment only for the sake of living and keeping his views to himself without complaining. The moment he complains he is not named as a simple and justified person and is removed from the society and his skills and precision is used by the injustified person with bad and immoral behavior which is termed justified as it is a perception of the people in the society to name a person as justified or unjustfied as a inner belief with the wrongdoings of the unjustified person is hiiden and not exposed in the surrounding environment of the society.
An unjustified person is egoistic, dominant ,behaves badly but all these qualities are hidden and not exposed to people in the society and it is believed that this is the normal way and working lifestyle of the people in the society without many changes and is describe dto be good whereas a person with good qualities tries to imprve the situation of the people in the society with skill and precision but people soon defy him and limit him to keep his qualities to himself and not try this on others as it is not the normal way of living in the society and implementing things in the society.
The story is that glaucon finds a horse who was under the trauma of an earthquake and was anxious, angry and stimulated with an aura of invisible ring around that horse which impressed the queen in that city. Glaucon finally used that ring to impress the queen and kill the king and finally took over the reigns of the kingdom ,so it is the distribution of power and authority of the ring to the justified man who preserves it within himself and is able to take decisions with spontaneous behavior or non-spontaneous behavior and has the will and perseverence to resist bad situations whereas the unjustified person misuses the power of the ring to enjoy materialistically and for his own benefits in a hidden way which seems the normal way of living in society.
