He shares why all those hours you spend staring at your smartphone, tablet or computer might be making you miserable -- and what you can do about it. How many hours do you spend watching a screen? Do you feel this is stealing away time and your life? Why/Whynot?

Explanation / Answer

One of the most important invention of the previous century is the electronic gadgets. Starting from TV and now with the smartphones, screens have stolen our quality time. Although none of the inventions are bad in itself, the way they are used make them stupid or brilliant. Most of the people on earth are using any one of the gadgets that projects images, videos and texts. Some use it for good such as education, business and be in touch while most of the people on earth use them only as entertaining devices. They use it to watch movies, TV programs, play games etc.

I use my smartphone mostly for looking for educational resources, chatting with friends and playing games. I know I use one or the other gadget every now and then. Although I don't agree that I have become a slave to my gadgets, when I look at other people using gadgets, I feel it may be true. As the screen time increases with unproductive or useless tasks, one's brain stops thinking, eyes gets irritated and one would build stress. One would become lazy and couch potato if one keeps using any one of the gadget for unproductive work. So I think I should reduce my screen time on useless tasks and spend more quality time with friends and family in person. I need to come out of my comfort zone and lazy zone in order to be active and enjoy the natural world that would boost not only my immunity and health but also my personal touch with others.
