How smart can our machines make us? Tom Gruber, co-creator of Siri, wants to make "humanistic AI" that augments and collaborates with us instead of competing with (or replacing) us. He shares his vision for a future where AI helps us achieve superhuman performance in perception, creativity and cognitive function -- from turbocharging our design skills to helping us remember everything we've ever read and the name of everyone we've ever met. "We are in the middle of a renaissance in AI," Gruber says. "Every time a machine gets smarter, we get smarter." What do you think about the idea affecting your presence online and via social media? Why will this be bad or good?

Explanation / Answer

Eventhough, these technological advancements ar our future and seems exciting too but at the same time I feel it can be a bad thing as well for us.Artificial intelligence (AI) is on the rise both in business and in the world in general.Sure it can make our work easy and more interesting but it involves cost too. Humans are not best served by doing tedious tasks. Machines can do that, so this is where AI can provide a true benefit. This allows us to do the more interpersonal and creative aspects of work. If machines do get smarter than humans, there could be a loss of control that can be a detriment. Human interaction will lessen between people but still the reach would be massive through artifical intelligence.
