You must address the following in this portion of your assignment: 1. Identification and brief description of your chosen organization 2. An assessment of how technology has influenced change within the organization 3. An assessment of how the global marketplace has influenced change within this organization . A plan with a minimum of three goals that include objectives and a timeline as well as a designation of who is responsible for each objective. 1. The chosen organisation is Bharti Airtel where I have worked previously. It is a Telecommunication organisation and is the leader in Telecom in India. They have been present across India and have now also entered into Africa as well. Bharti Airtel is a part of the Bharti Group and is headed by Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal. They enjoy the highest market share in India with over 40% of the customers using mobile phones are Airtel customers.
2. At Bharti Airtel, there has been several changes that has happened due to technology. Since I was working in Sales, I would be able to give you an example of how it worked there. Previously every organisation which had sales represantitives would be in the field all day and achieve their targets. In this process, as a mananger, I would not be aware as to what has the representative done the whole day. In case the desired target is not achieved by the salesperson, what would be the reason for his non achievement. This was a major challenge as I cannot be present with all the 10 people on the field at a time. Here, technology came to our rescue wherein we handed over Tablets to our sales representatives which they would have to carry during their working hours. The Tablets consisted of Applications which they can use to mark their attendance, fill their daily activities like customers they have met, their feedback etc and the most important thing is that we can track the executives where they are in the field. This change, thanks to the technology brought in more efficiency as people were more serious and were actively participating in their respective jobs. Moreover, if anybody had an issue, they would directly connect on the app and mention the issue that they are facing which would be resolved by the back end team. This also brought in a lot of customer satisfaction thereby increasing the overall productivity of the organsiation.
3. The golbal market place has also been an influencer for the change in this organisation. As far as the Telecommunication industry is concerned, India is the global leader in Telecom. In order to maintain that leadership, there are several factors which influenced the organsiation to maintain their leadership within the country as well as maintain the global leadership. Thus, implementation of newer technologies to increase efficiency and productivity helped in retaining the global leadership.
