- A. B. C. D.elasticity
A.all muscle tissues are capable of being stretched beyond their "resting" length
B.all muscle tissues are capable of expending energy to shorten themselves
C.all muscle tissues are capable of carrying an electrical impulse (action potential)
D.all muscle tissues will automatically return to their "resting" length
Explanation / Answer
A) Extensiblity- (A) It is the the property of the all muscles tissue to strached beyond their resting or original lenght. If cells lacks this property known as spascity.
Contractiblity - It is the forcefully shortening of the muscles by the use of energy. For skeletal muscles , when the muscles are eexcited and leads the opening of the Ca ion channels. Ca ions bind with troponin and causes sequential changes in their position and shape of the tropomyosin, myosin and actin. Myosin bind with the short arm of the myofilament and pull them and results cell becomes contract.
Excitablity- (C) It is the abilty of the muscles to responed stimulation delivered from the motors neurons or hormones. Nervous impulses causes release of neurotransmitter acetylcholine at the nerve- muscles junction and activate receptors for the influx of sodium ions and depolarized the cell membrane.
Elasticity- (D) it ability of the muscles to regain its original lenght after being strached. Loss of elasticity is increase after gaining the age of 40yr.
