What legal rights, if any, do you have to information in your medical record or in someone else's medical record?
Would you agree to have all of your information disclosed? Why or why not?
Please give your honest opinion and validate your stance on this topic.
Explanation / Answer
I believe that Medical information is private and confidential which is the sole property of a patient and should not be disclosed without proper permission from the patient. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 supports the statement and a medical record of any other individual requires permission to be accessed.
No, I would not agree to have all my information disclosed because that is confidential and if there is no need to disclose them I will not be. I believe that only the information that needs to disclosed should be or else protected.
