As you can see, OCT places the creation of new knowledge as a very different process than the quantitative research theories we have looked at. My organization strongly puts emphasis on certain aspects which make our company a great place to work. The following aspects greatly resonates within our organizations culture:
These perspectives and outlook has deeply shaped my values as person within the organization. Metaphor greatly used within my organization is that it is a melting pot of civilizations
Physical Symbols: They help in enforcing the corporate culture and represent the values the organization stands for. My organization symbol stands for unity among diversity. The symbol is a green dot displayed along with the organizations name.
Behavioral symbol: The way employees behave with each other and the society at large forms the key ingredient for behavioral symbol. My organizations inspires innovation, so the behavior of employees is very friendly, curious, cool, complimenting and one that encourages innovation.
Verbal Symbols: They are stories and myths that tell the history of the organization. The story around my organization is how it grew from a garage with one or two employees to an industry giant with thousands of employees.
Ritual Performances: Rituals reinforce organizations culture. Friday parties, annual celebrations, company lunches, and all form part of rituals at my organization.
Passion Performances: The way management communicates with its employees to reinforce corporate culture is passion performance. My CEO is very friendly and open to questions when giving a presentation and always tries to encourage scrutiny, this is a passion performance.
Social Performances: The way organizations behave with the society and multiple stake holders at large is social performance. My organization has something known as impact day where all the employees indulge in social work. This helps in reinforcing corporate values.
Political Performance: The way organization behaves with the government and different instituions displays political performance. My organization is completely compliant with all the laws of the land and helps in government by paying taxes in time and helping the society at large.
Enculturation: The way organizations imbibe the values of culture it operates in is enculturation. My firm operates in European countries where employee wellbeing is greatly focused at.So, my company greatly places importance over employee well-being. It has made it a crucial part of its culture, which helps it in completely imbibing the culture of the land where it operates in.
