Choose an organization of your liking as the point of study for this discussion. It can be your own organization where you are currently employed or any other organization.
Study their current IT resources carefully and answer any two of the following three questions (listed in the Tasks section) in your discussion post.

Task:
1. List and describe any three major entities in the organization database with their primary key.
2. Describe any three IT resources that may be shared on the organization intranet.
3. Name and briefly explain any one cross functional enterprise application and two functional business systems that should be used by the organization and why.
Explanation / Answer
As it is mentioned in the question that two of the three questions in the tasks need to be answered, so I choose 1st and 2nd task to be answered.I am considering IT company as my organization
TASK1 ANSWER:- Three major entities in an organization(or an company) are:-
1.Employee
2.Department
3.Project
1.Employee entity will be having attributes such as Eno,fname,lname,bdate,sex,address,salary,deptno. Eno i.e employee number will be its primary key.
2.Department entity will be having attributes such as Dno,Dname,Mgr,Mstartdate.Dno that is department number will be its primary key.
3.Project entity will be having attributes such as Pname,Pno,Plocation and Dno.Pno that is project number uniquely identify the Project entity so it will be its primary key.
TASK2 ANSWER:-Three IT resources that may be shared on the organization intranet are:-
1.Printers
2.Scanners
3.Information
1.Printers are expensive if attached with each and every computer.So, instead of attaching it with each and every computer , it is shared over intranet so that multiple user can be able to use it .This make it more cost effective,multi user and its idle time is considerably reduced.
2.Scanners are also an important resource used in organization,although it is quite expensive however if it is shared over intranet it become cost effective,multi user and much more efficiently used as its idle time is reduced considerably as multiple users use it.
3.Information is another resource which is shared over intranet.Information includes documents,spreadsheets,mails and reports that are commonly shared over intranet.Another way is to store all information on a server.
Apart from above three resources there are other resources such as:-
Server,Intercom,Xerox machine which can be easily shared over intranet for multiple uses.
