According to Margulies and Raia the organizational development practitioner should consider the human values as given below.
In my opinion these humanistic values are really difficult to achieve in this competitive environment. Companies can focus on these values to a certain extent but it’s not possible for the organizational development practitioner to implement. The employee behavior differs from person to person and if the organizations do not concentrate on its efforts to increase productivity it is difficult for an organization to achieve its goals. Hence sometimes the tasks assigned to employees are much higher for a normal human being to achieve and he needs to put extra efforts so that he can achieve both organizational and personal goals. This approach considers the employees as resources rather than human beings when it is a matter of success of the organizations. Each employee should be given equal opportunities for training, learning and opportunities but sometimes the employee’s personal effectiveness also matters while directing these opportunities towards achieving the organizational goals. Each employees needs depends upon their personal view about the needs and may differ from person to person. An organization cannot treat all the needs but it is important to treat their basic needs in order to motivate the employees and ensure employee satisfaction. Hence though the humanistic values play an important role in organizational development, it is idealistic for an organizational development practitioner to consider all the values.
