Question
After reading article (https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2015/09/24/blue-cross-plans-create-giant-database-to-spur-cost-transparency/#6b1894de47a0)
1- Imagine that you are shopping for the right healthcare provider for you business and employees. If Blue Cross Blue Shield is the only one providing the transparency it talks about in the article, would this play a factor in your decision? Why or why not?
2- If you are writing a SQL query to filter on the doctors that have a five star rating (ratings are stored in the "rating" column on a table named "doctor"), what filtering clause might you use in your SQL? Note: I am looking for your thought process. I am looking for you to identify a filter that you would use and tell me how/why you would use it. If you want to write the SQL query out, please do so. If you need to make up additional tables or columns to illustrate your thoughts, include that in your post. Your projects in this course will be grading on correct SQL, but not this discussion.
Explanation / Answer
1) So, according to the scenario you need to buy healthcare insurance for business and employees. Since Blue cross blue Shield is providing a transparency regarding the policies of the insurance, I would rather go for this medical insurance for my employees. Here are few reasons why should I choosing this medical insurance:
2) SELECT doctor_name, rating
FROM doctor
WHERE rating=5;
In this SQL query we are using a SELECT query with a WHERE clause to filter the doctors whose rating is 5.
