Question

CSCI 3310 Test1 Fall 2018 Name 2. (10 pts) Design a database to store details about US presidents and their term in office. You are required to record the sequence of presidents so that the predecessor and successor of any president can be determined. Grover Cleveland had nonconsecutive terms, so your model must handle this situation (hint: think of Presidency as an entity). Cleveland was both the 22nd (1885-89) and 24th (1893-97) President of the US. Also, record the fact that the sons of two Presidents (Adams and Bush) have also been Presidents (i.e., there is a father-son relationship between some presidents)

Explanation / Answer

There can be a table consisting of Present name, the period he was in office.
Also there are additional details consisting of Vice Presedient and First Lady

For giving out the Father-Son relationship we can create another table which will have President name, their relationship with other president and the name of other president.
The second table can be joined with the first table with the help of President column.
