Choose an organization on which to complete a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis. Ideally, the company you choose will be a familiar one and one to which you have easy access, such as your place of employment or a company close to where you live. It is important to remember that opportunities and threats are external to an organization, and strengths and weaknesses are internal to an organization.

I have chosen Samsung as an organisation for SWOT analysis

Samsung Electronics :

- A well-known electronic and technological multi national company based out of South Korea

- it is the second largest IT company in the world

- it is mainly into manufacturing of Smartphones

- Major competitors of Samsung are Apple Inc, Huawei etc.

Strengths and weakness (Internal):

Strengths:

1. Brand: Cost effective high performing android smart phones manufacturer.

2. Market coverage : Samsung's main aim is to cover markets, including all income level of people, through their affordable prices

3. Competative edge : The phone features , its design and quality acts as competitive edge for them

4. Quality: Best quality and affordable prices is their brand strategy

5. Customer Services : After sales services are quite effective with Samsung when compared to others.

6. Demographic : The features are quite user-friendly for all age people and that covers the demographic target market

7. Reach: Samsung reaches both developed and underdeveloped countries which inturn covers across the globe

Weakness:

1. Dependancy : Does not have a software of its own and hence dependency level is high on other software companies

2. Similar design: Samsung's all smartphones are similar with its designs eventhough cost varies accordingly

Opportunity and threats (External)

Opportunity :

1. Global market: Samsung phones are available across the globe and hence has the opportunity to expand its market through product differentiation

2.Research and development : Samsung stands very high with its user-friendly features and can get into more research and development

3. Designs: It has the opportunity to come up with changes in its designs according to different price levels

Threats:

1. Rivalry: Huawei being a major competitor of Samsung gives a similar brand promise for their customers with best designs at affordable prices

2. Distribution : Samsung has a week distribution system which in turn affects their price levels.
