Explanation / Answer
Biggest Challenge In Public Speaking:
I find it difficult to speak in extempores. If I have a wriiten script I can perform well, but given to speak on the topic at the moment, lack of ideas make me fumble between words and nervous.
Strength in public speaking:
Confidence - To speak about something of my own or my personal life experience, or something I know about, I have good verbal speaking skills, good pitch and confident enough to speak in front of a large audience, also enact and use little humour.
Georgia Tech Speech
Good start to the speech thanking and embracing, welcoming all.
The speech was very well organized and went in a very timed and planned manner from start till end
Gave relevant examples from own personal life to which audience could relate (also Iron man example).
Good use of sarcasm and timely humour
Great thought process of how to better yourself daily using lifelike examples
Explained the importance of where they were, telling great things about the university
Ended on a fabulous note, background music, great voice modulation and loud pitch, clearing proving his point of anything you want can be done
Amy Ted talk
A very calm and composed talk, showing signs of maturity and calmness. Unlike student was excited , bold ,energetic, this speech was very gentle composed and smooth.
She had great voice clarity, perfect audio pitch, gave stress wherever necessary, smiled and cracked little jokes.
Told about her story of how she lost everything, and then strongly came back rising from the ashes.
She masde others think about what all they could do in their lives, nothing is impossible.
She started her speech with a Question, about life being an open book, how you want it to go, and ended with the same, laying stress on the basic theme of talk.
Steps to be a strong speaker
From my experience and after listening to these amazing talks, I feel a person should be very well organized with what to talk about - the content of the talk. Though it should not be a direct speech rather a talk, but you should be clear with what all you have to cover.
Speaking style: Everyone has their - you should find yourz. Georgia tech student had a passionate, bold, motivating and energetic talk, Amy had a composed, gentle, emotional, motivating one. When I am on stage I bring high energy to the floor, motivation by lines , qoutes etc. You should deliver what your style is rather than copying. It can be sarcastic, funny, thoughful, emotional etc.
Interact with audience if possible
Increase your GK, read a lot.
Practice, no limit for that Speak in front of diverse audience from all background, speak on various topics.
