A career in security or loss prevention is diverse and varied. Every person in this role work in some subrole or the other. Since it is a very critical job, one needs to be engaged in the job for the complete period. Now guiding a person into a job such as this will actually need us to evaluate the kind of work experience the candidate has and his/her interest. They can either specialize in criminal justice or in computer science. But they need to definitely keep themselves updated with the current law in place so that their work doesn't get questioned.
Definitely their educational path may have an impact on the positions available. Some may have talent of a manager while som might have the talent of a hacker.
You can get a good reference of such things in Mission Impossible movies. While Benji is a tech expert, Ethan is a field operative more equipped with ground operations.
