1. Policy Statement -

Productivity means the resultant output of input and output data for a person . It defines by the time which is required by a fresher or even a skilled person to achieve any particular task with normal speed (which has been assigned). This should be done without any failure . If the work has not available then the manager can assign another work, which details should be log for sure .

This policy has been created here because of the required productivity should be increased .

The company ABC corporation is working on various systems so policy should be followed.

2. Purpose of Policy statement -

The purpose of the policy Statement is so clear . The policy will maintain the codimg work flow with acceptable and proper levels . Monthly report should be publish and it will display the every coder production in the establishment of hourly health records in productivity . This policy standards will display the time taken to achieve the completion. of the assigned task .

The policy has been prepared by analysing the employee work in various time durations

, management data and the system generated data. Productivity always tell the amount of work has been done .

Procedure :

A. The perfomance should be monitored on monthly basis by the relavent manager in the both way - quality and quantity .

B. The coding quality should be minimun of 95% in accurary for the IP and OP (inpatient and outpatient) . OP(Outpatient ) coding included the all kind of coding which perform for the OP encounter (such as surgery , emergency room , treatment room , clinical visits etc)

C. Here productivity will be calculated as the dividing the ouput by the total time taken to complete a certain task.

Formula for Productivity = Total output / total time taken

D. Productivity will always produce by the certified tools of the organization .

E. Based on various evaluations process , our employee performance will be dicide and they will assign the following ratings accordingly --

E - Excceding the standard

M - Meeting the standard

U- Unacceptable(non standard meet)

F. The coding team should meet the following productivity standards -

Inpatient Coding(IP) (it includes patient types such as - IA , 1C , NIA , IP)

----- it should be two health records per hour (2/hr)

Outpatient Coding(OP) (includes the coding, abstracting and charging for the patient types:

a.BOP -- it should be 15 health records per hour;

b.OBV -- it should be 3.5 health records per hour;

c.OPS -- it should be 4.5 health records per hour;

Emergency Room Coding (includes the coding, abstracting and charging for the patient type -- ER.

----it should be nine health records per hour (9/hr)

G. As the productivity and quality will be monitored on the monthly basis - if any employee is not metting the monthly quality or productivity then it will a subject to displinary action .

H. A coder will only be eligible to train on new coding work when he/she is already metting the currunt work quality standards .

I. The productivity standards should be re evaluate frequently on the basis of any change .

Thus this is the whole policy that we need to design for the better implementation of the coding jobs in IP , OP and ER respectively .

And through this way we can increase the productivity and quality of the organization.
