Company History: According to the PepsiCo website, the following information were found. PepsiCo, Inc. established through the merger of Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay. Pepsi-Cola was created by Caleb Bradham and Frito-Lay, Inc. was formed by the 1961 merger of the Frito Company, founded by Elmer Doolin, and the H. W. Lay Company, founded by Herman W. Lay. The new company reports sales of $510 million and has 19,000 employees. In 1970, PepsiCo moved to New York making it as one of the featured foremost architects of 144-acre campus and with an outdoor sculpture garden. In 1985, it was the largest beverage company available in 150 countries. In 1988, it received the Grammy Awards for the most-watched commercial in history. In 1989, it could make up to Fortune 500 ranking. In 1997, PepsiCo spins off Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell as Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. In 2000, it acquired a majority stake in South Beach Beverage Company. In 2006, Indra Nooyi became the CEO of PepsiCo. It introduced the 1stclimate-friendly vending machines in the USA. Pepsico and Calbee foods went through a strategic alliance in 2009. PepsiCo and Tingyi Holding formed a strategic alliance in 2011. In 2017, worldwide, approximately 263,000 employees are associated.
